Mostly I am having fun and staying thoughtful and playful throughout the process. It’s adding variety and playfulness to the process, which is keeping me going – a 100 days, what was I thinking? What I am loving about illustrating this poem is how it is stretching me creatively to try new emotions on for my cartoon character that I hadn’t previously considered. While I will continue to draw and write, I might not get anything new posted on the blog for a couple of days, so here are my illustrations for the first few stanzas of Seuss’ poem. So this post is serving as days 15 to 18 of my 100 day project and the Ultimate Blog Challenge. Not willing to use the lame excuse of traveling to skip a few days, I got smart and created ahead. The next few days will be long and full and yet, I committed to myself to 100 days of positive self-talk, drawing and writing. I especially love the tiny piñata and paper flowers on the dining room table.

I am at a conference in San Antonio, Texas for a few days where I will be speaking at the Evolutionary Business Council Annual Retreat. I have been working on it for a few days and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

I decided it would be fun to explore my own feelings by illustrating this poem with my cartoons. Some days, of course, feel sort of Brown. This wonderful poem helps us all – adults and children alike, accept that we feel all the feelings and that on no two days are we the same and that’s okay. Seuss called ‘My Many Colored Days.” I have a board book version I used to read to my kids.
